Welcome to my blog! I’m Grace Ramey, a wife and mother of all wonderful redheads. I like to think that makes me a little bit brave. 😉 I love (and sometimes hate, but mostly love) momming and hang onto that occupation like a bulldog. These are precious days I will never get back and I am thankful for every one that I am given, but have found that I often need strength outside of me to carry on.
I started this blog after the loss of my second child. It was a time when I was deeply impressed how weary and faint the heart can become. We ache with sorrows too great to bear, we are worn down and exhausted, we dream for a longing to be filled, we are overwhelmed and just plain tired, we cringe at the prospect of getting up tomorrow and facing what was nearly too much for us to face today. We are in need of restoration, of quiet, comfort, and rest. We need time to ponder, time to be still, and most of all moments to come close and connect to the Giver of hope, life, understanding and peace. We shrivel up inside without it, much like a branch broken and dangling from the vine.
I have always loved rainy days. Everything glows with refreshment and life. Rainy days come in a soft misty, gentle goodness, tender and slow. They also come in sheets of drenching downpour, quenching dry parched earth till it oozes with cool, life-giving goodness. We need refreshment in equally different ways sometimes. If the One who tends the grass cares so exactly for it’s needs, how much more can the One who tends the heart know exactly how to tenderly care for it? Do you know how He values the deepest part of you?
My prayer is that this blog might in some way, large or small, bring refreshment and renewal to your heart. May you catch a glimpse of the goodness of God’s heart and His wisely designed plan of goodness for any who would come to Him and ask. The blessings of heaven await.
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38
There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:6-8
